Constellar has announced the upcoming Industrial Transformation ASIA-PACIFIC (ITAP) 2024 will be held at Singapore EXPO during the third week of October.
As a HANNOVER MESSE event, the idea behind ITAP is to bring the world’s largest industrial fair to the SEA region and refit the expo into a more suitable context while diving deep into a particular industry and topic which in this year’s case is highlighting the potential of AI in enabling a more diverse manufacturing sectors at various stages, leading to faster and better business growth while committing to various ESG goals.
The hosting of the event in Singapore is welcomed by a wide range of government bodies and partners including Singapore’s Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Economic Development Board (EDB), Enterprise Singapore (ESG), JTC Corporation (JTC), SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) and the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), and global industry leaders and key players in the region’s business ecosystem.
For Malaysia, it is stated that the country is moving ahead of the Malaysia AI Roadmap 2021-2025, having recently launched the Malaysia Artificial Intelligence Consortium (MAIC) and the AI Talent Roadmap for Malaysia 2024–2030 as part of the Malaysia Artificial Intelligence Nexus 2024 (MY AI NEXUS) program.
Specifically, the government’s New Industrial Master Plan (NIMP) 2030 initiative aims to see 3,000 smart factories transformed by 2030 through technologies like AI to supercharge high-value sectors like Electrical & Electronics, Specialty Chemicals, Aerospace, Pharmaceutical, and Medical Devices. The GDP for manufacturing is expected to surge by 61%, from US$80 billion (RM364.9 billion) in 2022 to US$129 billion (RM587.5 billion) by the same target timeline.
By capturing the chance to support ITAP 2024, the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) will be offering local players access and adoption to cutting-edge technologies, applications, and new digital initiatives through the event.
Diving back to ITAP 2024, there will be 3 key trends for this year’s theme, namely ‘Digitalize with Secure Intelligent Operations’, ‘Align Sustainable Manufacturing Practices’, and ‘Build Antifragile Supply Chains’.
The core highlight of the event will be the official announcement of a groundbreaking whitepaper called ‘Regenerative Manufacturing – Unlocking ASEAN’s Growth through Design and AI’ developed in partnership with global management consultancy firm Kearney that contains several practical approaches, solutions, and outlines to guide companies in achieving the optimal balance of profit, sustainability, and resiliency as a form of reshaping the manufacturing and the greater ecosystem.
One can also find other insightful stuff over at the Industrial Transformation Forum, InnoX Stage, and Industrial Innovation Stage in addition to Experience Zones containing some of the latest innovations in Sustainable Manufacturing, AI & Data Analytics, Industrial Robotics & Automation, and Additive Manufacturing.
Other than that, the standard networking zone, product showcase, keynote sessions, panel discussions – the bread and butter of any industrial fair can be found as well.
